Businesses have an important role to play in creating more opportunities for young people with SEND. Whether through work experience, training, employment or simply learning more, there are many ways to get involved
The Ealing SEND Partnership Charter is a simple commitment to explore what your organisation could do.
Getting involved can start small. You might offer a workplace visit or work experience, take on a supported intern, create a part-time opportunity or adapt an existing role. We can help you explore what might work for your organisation.
The Ealing SEND Partnership Charter brings together local organisations and businesses with a shared commitment to increasing employment opportunities for young people with SEND.
Signing the Charter shows your support for that ambition. It does not commit your organisation to a fixed set of actions. Every business is different, and what you can offer will depend on what works for you.
You won’t be doing this alone. The Ealing SEND Network can help match young people to suitable opportunities, prepare them for the workplace and provide job coaching once they start. That support can continue for as long as it is useful to you.
“Aaron has become a real asset to the team.”
Aaron completed a Supported Internship at UWL, gaining experience across three different placements before continuing with Equans. He says the experience helped him develop his communication skills, teamwork and independence, while giving him the chance to show what he could do.
Daniel Tilbury, Senior Operations Manager at Equans
